During the renovation of the main staircase we found the following note in the newel post:
This house commenced Sept 22 1910 by Emerson Redden
owned by Ada Redden
lot bought from Wm. Ross
lot formally owned by William Wright of New Westminster B.C.

Some information on the house
• Original intact main floor hardwood is lined with newspaper from 1911.
• Original building permit found in stairs.
• House has a walk up staircase (very steep) to the attic. (Window at top of house)
• Upper balcony door is from a house in Sunalta.
• The original 1911 windows survived up till 2011 when they were replaced.
• Original photo of Fire Station #2 (across from the stampede) found in the basement joists during renovation.
• Child's toys, partial hockey cards, paper dolls, business card were found in original baseboards in the house.
• Original kitchen was constructed with wooden fruit boxes for shelfs.
• We relocated the original single car garage to 703 (next door) when we constructed a new garage.
