Special thanks to Ruth Manning who provided the beautiful photo from 1912, and much of the history on the house. (the little girl in the photo is her aunt.)
We fell in love with the historic charm & character of this house when we purchased it in 2009, and learning all this great history about it has made us love it even more !

In 1901 three brothers came to Calgary from Bristol England. They lived at a boarding house on Maggie Street and built several houses in the Ramsay Inglewood area. In 1906 their families arrived with houses ready to move into. George Robbins, his wife Alice & their young son George moved into the small house in the back of the property while they finished building the main house. Amazing that three people could live in this tiny little house without killing each other! It's a perfect little bachelor suite though, and has been operating as such for... centuries !
Did you notice?.. .
• There were a lot less stairs up to the house in 1912 .
• The cute Victorian Style of the posts & brackets around the porch .
